As a CrossFit gymnastics and USA Weightlifting coach and athlete, I’m excited to share my passion for fitness with others by helping them become the best version of themselves.
When not at the gym I enjoy spending time with my husband (Kit) and son (Corbin) and our 2 dogs. I also work as a hairstylist and I’m currently studying nutrition.
I was born and raised in Curitiba, Brazil. I received my MD degree in 2002 followed by residency in ophthalmology. Now married with two beautiful daughters, I’m happy to join the Steadfast team where we can help others to develop the same passion for sport and fitness. When I’m not at Steadfast I spend most of my time taking care of my family. As we can never stop learning, I love to read about nutrition and on how to keep our movements safe while performing this beautiful sport.
I’ve been working in the fitness and sports industry since 1995. I started competing in weightlifting in 2000. I coach to hopefully help others reach whatever goals they have in lifting or fitness and maybe more just like all my coaches have done for me.
Angela has been married for 16 years. She has two daughters. Both of which participate in the teems and kids CrossFit classes at Steadfast. Angela and her family love to travel and go on road trips.
In regards to coaching the kids class, I really want these children to have a place where they're valued, a place where they can make new friends, fail and it be okay, succeed and it be celebrated, a place where no matter what the rest of the day held or holds, the coach is happy to see them and so glad they're there, a place where they gain confidence in themselves so they can make better choices elsewhere, a truly safe place. Watching the friendships grow, the confidence that they gain, the skills that they learn, it's truly so rewarding.
As a lifetime athlete, participating in a variety of sports as a child, varsity and Junior Olympic volleyball throughout high school, and collegiate Track and Field, fitness and sport is a big part of who I am. I have been training in CrossFit (and dabbling in Olympic Lifting) for 5 years, and have been a CF-L1 for just under 2 years. I love to share the joy of fitness with others. My particular passions as a coach are working with new athletes, pregnant athletes, and helping every athlete I have the pleasure of coaching define and reach his or her goals.
I am a wife to Philip. I am a mom to my two girls Lucy and Lily, and my two babies in Heaven, Joseph, and Jude. I believe that no matter where you are on your journey, there is no “bad” time to start down the road to fitness. I hope I can share in that journey with you!
The family-friendly atmosphere and wonderful staff and athletes at CrossFit Plain City inspire me every day, and I am so blessed and honored to work with you to meet your goals.
